Today I bring you Renee and Patrick’s intimate wedding in Gibraltar. This Australian couple decided that for their big day they would hold a “destination wedding“: an intimate wedding in a foreign country different from where the couple currently resides, in this case they chose to celebrate their wedding in Gibraltar.
Many couples choose to get married in Gibraltar (Kelsey & Andrew, Jaimee & Jason …) Wedding photographer Gibraltar. And it’s because this destination has many facilities for those who want to get married abroad. It is also a great destination because everyone speaks English and is very close to Andalusia and the Costa del Sol.
For this wedding, as is usual lately, the guests were 5: groom and bride, two friends of the couple and me.
For this special day, the couple relied on the work of Mediterranean Wedding, specialists in organizing weddings in Gibraltar. It was everything a success, the day was perfect.
First, the couple got ready at the Eliott Hotel accompanied by their close friends. she was very pretty with a white lace dress, high-heeled shoes and beautiful golden hair in a bun with bobby pins to match. He wore a dark grey suit with silver tie and some flowers adorning his lapel giving the distinguished touch to the outfit. The bridal bouquet was made up of very elegant pink peonies.
This intimate wedding ceremony was fast and cared. This civil ceremony was held at The Dell, a precious spot inside Gibraltar Botanical Garden. It was a very moving ceremony though, an intimate wedding outdoors where the couple exchanged vows and rings.
Once the ceremony ended we left as is now already tradition, to walk through the very original Gibraltar landscape to take the newlywed pictures. But first we made some romantic photos of the couple at the botanical garden, then we headed to the Top of the Rock, the highest point of Gibraltar, its views of Algeciras’ Bay are stunning! And it is always so much fun to take pictures there because of the its original inhabitants (you can see them in the pictures trying to steal the bride’s bouquet).
To go up to this point it is necessary to take a cable car, and so we did, using also this time and wonderful views to shoot some more photos of the couple.
I like to go to the Top of the Rock not only for how peculiar this place is but because I always get very funny and accomplices pictures of the newlyweds, resulting on quite amusing and original wedding pictures.
After enjoying the magnificent views of the Bay of Algeciras, we headed to the already classic Europa Point, famous for being the closest point between Europe and Africa, where on a clear day like we had Africa can be perfectly seen.
Finally we walked around Gibraltar city centre and ended the wedding photo session at Marina Bay to shoot some pictures of the couple at Gibraltar’s sea port. The bride and groom were delighted with their maritime wedding photos.
I really enjoyed this intimate wedding in Gibraltar. If you are in thinking to skip the protocol and get married in Gibraltar in a destination wedding, give me a call!
