Vicky and Jaime’s wedding at a botanical garden, more precisely at El Jardín Botánico de La Concepción in Malaga, was a quite different, original and tropical wedding. The setting they chose provided to this wedding with the most exotic air.
El Jardín Botánico La Concepción in Málaga is a beautiful space of recognized historic value that was created around 1855 by the Marquises of Casa Loring and subsequently extended by the Echevarria-Echevarrieta family. Composed of an extensive collection of tropical and subtropical flora outdoor plant species from Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
So, by choosing to get married in the Botanic Garden of Malaga, this couple opted for an exotic wedding outdoors in an open space surrounded by nature that was most evocative and amazing.
For the big day, the bride chose a very original wedding dress. It was original not by its appearance or design but by it origin. Vicky’ s wedding dress was from Something Old, a company specialized in authentic vintage clothes. In this case the bride chose a vintage dress from the 50s that combined with a Suma Cruz crown and old family jewels getting a very original retro style.
All the wedding planning, preparation and also the lighting and floristry was organised by Cordero Atelier. “What made this place so special was how many great spots it has, that functioned as genuine almost theatrical stages” said Sara Uriarte, the wedding planner of this exotic wedding in Malaga to Vogue Novias.
The wedding decoration was based on a jungle and colonial aesthetic making use of the intrinsic features of this unique space and using vegetable details that looked like they were caught from the very Botanical Garden. Harmony with the space was complete.
The ceremony was held outdoors, in one delightful spot of the botanical garden. It was a very beautiful and emotional ceremony. After bride and groom exchanged rings and said “yes I do, the newlyweds and I went to shoot the couple wedding pictures. First we took some photos of the bride and groom at the famous greenhouse garden and then we took some more exotic and tropical pictures at the different corners of the botanical garden.
The wedding cocktail took place outside the Casa-Palacio at the botanical garden and was enlivened by live chill out music. For the dinner party two huge tables were prepared and decorated with a large presence of floral elements, including the seating plan cards, which gave the scene a look that really evoked the colonial style we were talking about.
The banquet consists on a buffet meal with delicious food from different countries that evoke that idea of traveling to an exotic place that was present in all the wedding planning. The first dance of the newlywed and the party took place in a most beautiful part of the Botanical Garden, “el Cenador con Glicinas”. There, all the wedding guests enjoyed the wedding party until the wee hours of the morning.
As a wedding photographer in Malaga I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being able to photograph this wedding in the mythical Jardín Botánico de Málaga.
