Today I want to share with you you an intimate but very international wedding: Tanya and Tom’s wedding at Hacienda San Jose, where I had the pleasure of working as a wedding photographer in Mijas.
Hacienda San Jose is a luxury villa situated in the hills of Mijas Spain that specialise in villa weddings. It is ideal for an outdoor wedding in Malaga, as it has many open spaces, including a viewpoint from which you can see incredible panoramic views of the hills and the coast, a real wonder and a dream setting to get married in Mijas. Hacienda San Jose is the most luxurious cortijo in the region that can be rented for villa weddings, events or special celebrations.
This is the venue Tanya and Tom chose for their destination wedding in Malaga, a very international wedding that had guests coming from all over the world to this wedding in Malaga. This is because Tom and Tanya are a very cosmopolitan couple, as they both work as humanitarian aid and have lived in many different countries until they met in one of their missions in Uganda.
After much thought they decided that a destination wedding in Malaga would be the best choice for their dream wedding, not only because it’s a mid-point accessible for all the guests, but also because they knew that here in Malaga they could have the natural, simple and beautiful wedding outdoors they wanted to have.
The wedding day began with the bride getting ready with the help of her mother and her best friends, while a few rooms away of this luxury villa, the groom was doing the same with his closest friends.
The bride wore a white dress with v-shaped neckline, nude color shoes and a very natural gathered hair, so it was her bridal bouquet. The groom was super stylish with a blue jacket, blue vest, beige pants and beige tie to match.
Once the fiancees were ready for their big day, they toasted their closest friends: the bride made her toast with her bridesmaids with champagne and the groom made his with his best men with whiskey. The ceremony began with the bride’s family giving their blessings and good wishes to the couple in a small ceremony known as “blessing.”
Then the civil wedding was celebrated outdoors of this Spanish villa in Malaga. It was officiated by an intimate friend of the couple, since for bride and groom it was very important that this was a very intimate wedding and that it has a relaxed atmosphere so they could enjoy not only their big day but also the company of their loved ones.
After the speeches made by one of the bride’s best friend and the groom’s brother, the couple exchanged their vows and rings. It was a very emotive wedding ceremony where you could really see the shared complicity of this couple as you can see in the wedding photographs.
And finally, the celebration began! The entire organization of this rural wedding in Malaga was run by Perfect Spanish Weddings who was responsible for the whole decoration of this chic and natural wedding in Malaga, as well as the layout of the tables and the original fruity tables centers. First there was a cocktail with a sangria table and live music by The Hula Hula’s group and then the wedding dinner started. After dinner, the bride and groom cut the cake, made their first dance as husband and wife and the wedding party of this international wedding in Malaga began!
Between the cocktail and the dinner, we went away for a bit to shoot the natural wedding photographs that the couple had in mind for their wedding day. So we walk around the villa, to enjoy and take pictures of the couple around the amazing typical Andalusian landscapes of the villa and then we went up to the spectacular viewpoint, where we took some beautiful photographs of the newlyweds. Then we went inside the house to photograph the couple and we took very nice and natural wedding photographs in the inner courtyard, surrounded by orange trees and in the corridors of this incredible Andalusian villa that looks like a vintage movie.
As a wedding photographer in Malaga and Marbella, I have been delighted to portray this very natural and emotional wedding at Hacienda San Jose in Mijas. Congratulations, to the happy couple!
